I love making this cotton candy grape sorbet in the summer when the city heats up. It’s simple, refreshing and comes together in about 10 minutes of active time.

What are cotton candy grapes?
Cotton candy grapes are a specially bred grape variety with a naturally sweet flavor that evokes cotton candy. They are not genetically modified organisms (GMOs); rather, they are the result of traditional cross-breeding between grape varieties to achieve that distinctive sweetness.
Ingredients for cotton candy grape sorbet
This sorbet uses only a few ingredients. For one batch you will need:
1 lb cotton candy grapes – These grapes are a seasonal treat, typically available in late summer. They can be pricier than regular grapes, which makes this sorbet feel special.
2 tbsp lime juice – Lime brightens the sorbet with a touch of tartness and adds a little extra liquid for blending.
3 tbsp water – A small amount of water helps achieve a smooth, scoopable texture.
1 tbsp white sugar (optional) – Cotton candy grapes are very sweet on their own. Add sugar only if you prefer a sweeter sorbet, or substitute with agave or another sweetener.
FAQs for this recipe
No. Cotton candy grapes are a cross-bred grape variety, not a genetically modified organism.
Store the sorbet in an airtight container in the freezer. It will freeze quite solid; let it sit at room temperature a few minutes before scooping.
Yes. Regular green grapes will work, but they are usually tarter. Consider increasing sweetener to about 1/2 cup sugar or use agave syrup to balance the tartness.
