DIY Night Cream with Vitamin E: 3-Ingredient Recipe for Glowing Skin

A Homemade Body Butter for Super Soft Skin

I’ve been clearing out my bathroom cabinets and ditching store-bought products that come with ingredient lists longer than a novel. It’s time we pay closer attention to what we put on our skin — many ingredients are absorbed and can have unknown effects. Making your own skincare lets you control what goes on your body while keeping things simple and effective.

This easy DIY night cream is made with just 3 ingredients, and it truly feels luxurious!

This creamy body butter is ideal for moisturizing, smoothing fine lines and helping heal dry, dull skin. I apply it to my face and neck before bed, and also to heels, elbows, or any area that needs extra nourishment. The texture is rich but melts into the skin, leaving it soft without a heavy residue.

Easy & Luxurious Homemade Night Cream

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp cocoa butter
  • 4 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vitamin E oil
  • 3-4 drops your favorite essential oil (optional)

Instructions

  • Gently melt the cocoa butter and coconut oil together in a heat-safe bowl set over a pot of simmering water. Stir or whisk until fully combined and smooth.
  • Take the bowl off the heat and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Stir in the vitamin E oil and, if using, the essential oil for fragrance.
  • Cover the bowl and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for roughly an hour, until it starts to firm up.
  • Remove the bowl and whisk vigorously (or use an electric hand mixer) until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  • Cover again and refrigerate for another 20–30 minutes to help set the whipped texture.
  • Whisk once more briefly, then transfer the body butter to a clean container with a lid. A small jar (about 4 ounces) works well for storage.
  • Use nightly on face, neck and chest, or apply to dry areas like hands, elbows and heels. A little goes a long way.
