We’ll be heading back to the coast in a few weeks and I’d love to hear your suggestions — please share your favorite things to do in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach so I can add them to our family’s plans.
1. FAMILY FRIENDLY – Gulf Shores and Orange Beach offer a relaxed, family-oriented atmosphere that’s very different from crowded spring-break beaches. You’ll find plenty of families and retirees enjoying the white sand and calm pace, which makes these beaches ideal for a low-stress, family-centered getaway.
2. CLEAN – The sand and water along Alabama’s Gulf Coast are consistently clean and inviting. We’ve stayed in a variety of condos and hotels and have been pleased with the quality of lodging throughout the area. For our upcoming trip we’ll be guests at Turquoise Place, which promises comfortable accommodations and resort amenities that make it hard to leave the property.
3. FOOD! – Dining on the Alabama coast is a highlight. With fresh seafood and a variety of restaurants ranging from casual to elevated, there’s something for every taste. We enjoy returning favorites and trying new spots each visit — there are always new local flavors to discover.
4. UNPLUGGING IS EASY – Time at the beach naturally encourages unplugging. Our family spends long days outdoors: boogie boarding, building sandcastles, hunting for shells and wading in the surf. That slower pace helps everyone relax and reconnect away from screens and daily obligations.
5. FUN – Beyond swimming and sand play, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach offer many activities and attractions. You can take a dolphin cruise, interact with marine life at certain venues, visit The Wharf for shopping and rides, fish off the pier, or simply explore new experiences every day.
