This tiered jewelry catch-all is compact and practical. I like keeping it by the bathroom or kitchen sink so I have a safe place to set rings, earrings, or other small pieces while washing hands, cooking, or doing chores.

I considered gluing the mini pots upside down on the saucers, but I chose to leave them right side up so the top pot can hold smaller items. The design is stable either way, so choose the orientation that best fits your needs and style.

DIY Jewelry Holder (Catchall) Directions

What you’ll need:

  • Two mini terracotta pots (2-inch size)
  • One terracotta saucer, 4-inch size
  • One terracotta saucer, 6-inch size
  • Craft paints in your chosen colors
  • Foam brushes for painting
  • Strong craft adhesive (Aleene’s Ultimate or E6000 recommended)

Step-by-step directions:

1. Paint the terracotta pots and saucers with craft paint using foam brushes. Allow the paint to dry completely before assembling.

2. Apply craft adhesive to the bottom of the first mini terracotta pot and glue it to the center of the 6-inch saucer.

3. Put craft adhesive around the top rim of the first pot, then center and set the 4-inch saucer on top of it so it forms the middle tray.

4. Apply craft adhesive to the bottom of the second mini pot and glue it, centered, to the 4-inch saucer. Let the adhesive cure fully according to the manufacturer’s instructions (typically about 24 hours) before using the holder.

This project is quick and easy—about 15 minutes of hands-on time, not including paint and glue drying. Craft paint dries quickly on terracotta; in my experience, the paint was dry in roughly half an hour, though full curing of paint and adhesive is important for longevity.

The finished terracotta pot and saucer jewelry holder also makes a thoughtful, practical gift for gardeners: it’s handy on a potting table to keep rings and earrings safe while working outdoors.
